At Little Cherubs we invite you the parent/guardian to come and visit the Nursery and for the Manager to explain our procedures and routines within the Nursery.
Once a place has been reserved for your child we will arrange dates for the child to come to the Nursery for a settling in period, which is usually 3 visits prior to the initial start date. Parents are of course welcome to stay and settle their child. We would normally recommend the following pattern of settling in visits:
1st Visit - parent to stay with child and discuss their individual routine with the relevant room leader.
2nd Visit - parent to leave child for at least an hour. You are of course welcome to stay on the premises if you would prefer to do so.
3rd Visit - parent to leave child for an afternoon or morning.
If a child has difficulty with settling in and the separation from their parent we would of course discuss this with you to help overcome this and we may suggest a longer settling in period.
Should you decline the offer of our settling in period you will be asked to sign a letter to confirm that you do not require the settling in period.
Parents are, of course, welcome to contact the Nursery at any time to see how their child has settled, especially if your child was distressed when you left them with us.
Our aim is to make your child feel part of the Nursery and the family environment so that you the parent knows that your child will be happy and safe in our care.
